Southern Railway Scouts and Guides Quota Recruitment 2026

- Recruitment for 17 vacancies under the Scouts and Guides Quota in Southern Railway and Integral Coach Factory.
- Open to candidates with 10th pass, 12th pass, ITI, NAC, or Act Apprenticeship qualifications.
- Positions available at Level 1 and Level 2 with distinct eligibility criteria for each level.
- No community reservation; open to all eligible candidates.
- Online application starts on 19 September 2026 and closes on 18 October 2026 at 11:59 PM.
- Selection based on written/hybrid examination (60 marks) and Scouts/Guides certificates (40 marks).

- Level 2 Posts: Must possess one of the following qualifications:
• Passed Class 12 with at least 50% marks in aggregate, or
• Matriculation with Act Apprenticeship for technician categories, or
• Matriculation with NCVT-approved ITI qualification for technician categories.
• 50% marks requirement for Class 12 is waived for SC/ST, ex-servicemen, or candidates with higher qualifications than Class 12.
- Level 1 Posts: Must possess one of the following qualifications:
• Class 10 pass, or
• ITI or equivalent qualification, or
• National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT, or
• Class 10 with ITI, or
• Class 10 with NAC granted by NCVT.
- Scouts and Guides Requirements: Must satisfy all of the following:
• Be a President’s Scout, Guide, Rover, Ranger, or Himalayan Wood Badge holder in any section.
• Have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last five years.
• Possess a Certificate of Activeness in the prescribed format.
• Have attended two events at the National Level or All Indian Railway level.
• Have attended two events at the State Level**.

- Written/Hybrid Examination (60 marks):
• Duration: 1 hour
• Format: Objective questions (40 questions, 1 mark each) + one essay-type question (20 marks)
• Negative Marking: One-third mark deducted for every incorrect objective answer.
• Language: Hindi or English.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40% for UR, 30% for OBC/SC/ST.
- Scouts and Guides Certificates (40 marks):
• 10 marks each for: Participation in National/State events, specialized courses, or District Rallies.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended for appointment must satisfy Bee Two and above medical classification for posts identified by Southern Railway or Integral Coach Factory.

- Recent passport-size photograph in Scouts/Guides uniform (3.5 cm × 3.5 cm, JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 50–100 KB).
- Signature on white paper in black ink (JPG/JPEG, 100 DPI, 10–40 KB).

- General/OBC candidates: Rs. 500 (refundable after exam with bank charges deducted).
- SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250 (refundable after exam with bank charges deducted).
- Fee must be paid online through the payment gateway. Separate fees required for Level 1 and Level 2 applications.
