Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026

- The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong, invites online applications for 354 Group C posts across 18 technical trades under the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026.
- This is an all-India recruitment rally with no state-wise quota. Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease at the discretion of the Department.
- The rally is open only to male Indian citizens.
- Selected candidates will undergo probation for 2 years and must refund the full cost of training or three months’ pay and allowances if they withdraw prematurely.

- Gender: Male candidates only.
- Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Age Limit (as of 1 July 2026) (with age relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, and Ex-Servicemen as per rules):
- 18–23 years for most trades (e.g., Rifleman Electrical Fitter Signal, Armourer, Vehicle Mechanic, etc.).
- 18–25 years for Warrant Officer (Cipher), Warrant Officer (Draughtsman), Warrant Officer (Operation Theatre Technician), and Warrant Officer (Physiotherapist).
- Educational Qualifications (varies by trade) (examples):
- Warrant Officer (Cipher): 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics & English + NSQF Level 4+ course in ICT/Electronics or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/ICT.
- Rifleman (Electrical Fitter Signal): Class 10 + 2-year ITI or Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Electrician.
- Rifleman (Armourer): 10th pass + ITI certificate in Welding trade.
- Havildar (Instrument Mechanic): Class 10 + 2-year ITI or Diploma in Instrument Mechanic/Electronic Mechanic.
- Warrant Officer (Draughtsman): 10+2 pass + 3-year Diploma in Architectural Assistantship.
- Warrant Officer (Operation Theatre Technician): 10+2 pass + Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician (min. 2 years) + 1 year work experience in a 50-bed hospital.
- Warrant Officer (Physiotherapist): 10+2 pass + Diploma in Physiotherapy (min. 2 years) + 1 year work experience in a 50-bed hospital/physiotherapy centre.
- Rifleman (Mason): 10th pass + must qualify trade test + self-certification of 1 year work experience in the trade.

- RFID-Based Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) (mandatory for all trades except those explicitly excluded):
- Height & Chest Measurement: Varies by category (e.g., 170 cm for general candidates, 165 cm for Garhwalis/Kumaonis/Dogras, 162.5 cm for ST candidates).
- PET: 5 km run within 24 minutes (All India except Ladakh), 1.6 km run within 7 minutes (Ladakh only).
- Documentation Verification (DV): Original payment receipt/challan and printed application form must be produced during PST/PET reporting.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): 100-mark objective-type question paper. Minimum pass marks: 35% for General/EWS, 33% for SC/ST/OBC.
- Trade Skill Test: Computer-Based Trade Test + Specific Practical Skill Test (qualifying only, no marks awarded). Shortlisted based on CBT merit (1:4 ratio per trade/category).
- Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME): Conducted as per Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination.
- Merit List & Call for Training: Candidates qualifying all stages are placed in a trade- and category-wise Merit List. Final selection depends on vacancy availability.

General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, Ex-Servicemen

- Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate (or equivalent) for proof of Date of Birth and Name.
- Educational qualification certificate(s)/Diploma/ITI certificate for the trade applied for.
- Domicile/Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC), issued by the competent authority.
- Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Other Backward Classes (OBC)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate (if applicable).
- Ex-Servicemen discharge certificate (if claiming ESM quota/relaxation).
- Relaxed physical standard certificate (for Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, or ST candidates).
- Valid ST certificate (for ST candidates availing relaxation in physical standards).
- Printout of the completed Online Application Form.
- Original copy of the payment receipt/challan.
- Printed copy of the notification downloaded from the Assam Rifles website.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) for departmental (serving Assam Rifles) candidates, issued by the Commanding Officer.
