- Must be physically able and mentally sound.
- Must not be in default of repayment of any government dues or bank loans.
- Preference will be given to family members of the previous Gaonpradhan (opinion of Mouzadar considered).
- Must not be a government employee.
- Must own land/immovable property in the village(s) of the applied lot.
- Must not be a member of any political party.
- Must have a good reputation and social standing.
- Must be willing to cooperate with the government/administration during natural disasters or official programs.
- Must not be involved in any debt-related offenses or have pending criminal cases.
- Must not have more than two living children (exceptions apply for those with more than two children before 19/07/2019).
