KEA Kalyana Karnataka Group C Recruitment 2026

- The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is recruiting for 210 Group C vacancies under the Directorate of Municipal Administration for urban local bodies in the Kalyana-Karnataka region.
- Open posts include Water Supply Operator, Electrician Grade-1, Assistant Water Supply Operator, and Electrician Grade-2 across multiple urban local bodies.
- The recruitment is conducted through a competitive written examination consisting of two papers: General Knowledge and a post-specific subject paper, along with a qualifying Kannada language test where applicable.

- Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
- Marital Status: Candidates with living spouses who remarry without government permission or women marrying men with living wives are ineligible.
- Physical Fitness: Must be physically and mentally fit to perform duties without impediment. Medical board decisions are final.
- Disqualifications: Candidates dismissed for cheating or impersonation in any examination conducted by KEA, Karnataka PSC, or other authorities are ineligible.
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed SSLC or equivalent (including CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, or Karnataka State Open School) AND hold an ITI two-year course certificate in Electrical or Fitter Trade from a recognized institute.
- Apprenticeship Requirement: For Water Supply Operator and Electrician Grade-1, candidates must also complete one year of Apprenticeship Training resulting in a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).
- Age Limit: Minimum age is 18 years. Maximum age limits are as follows: General Merit: 40 years, Category 2A/2B/3A/3B: 43 years, SC/ST/Category-1: 45 years. Additional relaxations apply for specific categories (e.g., government employees, ex-servicemen, etc.).
- Candidates awaiting results or without required certificates are ineligible. Original certificates must be produced during document verification.

- Selection is based on a competitive written examination consisting of two papers:
- Paper-1: General Knowledge (100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration). Topics include current affairs, everyday science, Indian Constitution, Karnataka history/geography, Panchayat Raj, and economic development.
- Paper-2: Post-specific subject paper (100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours duration).
- Kannada Language Test: Candidates who have not studied Kannada as a first/second language up to SSLC or higher, or who have not passed a Kannada language test, must clear a compulsory qualifying Kannada Language Paper (150 marks, 50% qualifying marks). This paper is not counted towards merit ranking.
- Negative Marking: Each wrong answer deducts 0.25 marks. Unanswered questions do not attract deductions.
- Exam Mode: Conducted in Online (CBT) or Offline (OMR) mode with exam centers announced later on the KEA website.
