Home Guard Vacancies in Jharkhand (Rural & Urban)

- Jharkhand Home Guard Corps, Devgarh, invites online applications for 635 vacancies under Home Guard (Rural & Urban) roles.
- This is a volunteer-based position with no fixed salary; compensation is given per duty day as per government rates.
- 50% of vacancies are reserved for women across both rural and urban categories.
- 5% of women’s reserved vacancies are further reserved for divorced, abandoned, or widowed women. If no eligible candidates apply, these vacancies will be merged into the general women’s quota.
- 10% of urban vacancies are reserved for government employees with additional marks based on educational qualifications.
- Physical and written tests will be conducted, followed by a technical test for urban technical category candidates.
- Basic training will be provided to selected candidates after document verification and police character certification.

- Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of Devgarh district (rural for rural Home Guard, urban for urban Home Guard).
- Age Limit: Must be between 19 to 40 years as of 01-01-2026.
- Educational Qualification:
- Rural Home Guard: Minimum 7th pass (self-attested educational proof required).
- Urban Home Guard: Minimum 10th pass (Matriculate) (self-attested educational proof required).

- Men: 162 cm (General/OBC/BC), 157 cm (SC/ST/OBC-A/BC-A).
- Women: 148 cm (all categories).
- Chest (Men only): 79 cm (General/OBC/BC), 76 cm (SC/ST/OBC-A/BC-A).
- Technical Skill (Urban Home Guard only): Must have expertise in technical fields such as medicine, engineering, law, teaching, nursing, computer operation, driving, plumbing, masonry, tailoring, or electrical work. Proof of technical skill must be provided from a recognized authority.
- Sports Bonus: Additional marks will be awarded to candidates who have won national or state-level sports awards.
- Volunteer Requirement: Applicants must be willing to serve selflessly for the nation without expecting a permanent government job.

- Physical Test: Includes 1-mile run, high jump, long jump, and shot put. Marks are awarded based on performance.
- Written Test: Hindi writing test (qualifying nature, 30/100 marks).
- Technical Test (Urban Technical Category only): Qualifying nature (30/100 marks).
- Document Verification & Police Character Check: Selected candidates must submit all original documents for verification.
- Final Selection: Based on merit list prepared after all tests and document verification.
