Supervisor (Mechanical) Contract Positions at Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited

- Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), invites online applications for Supervisor (Mechanical) posts on a contract basis for a period of five years.
- The selected candidates will be posted at UCSL Malpe or any other UCSL units/project sites in Karnataka or across India, depending on project requirements.
- The recruitment drive is for 4 vacancies (1 UR, 1 OBC, 1 SC, 1 ST).
- UCSL reserves the right to increase/decrease vacancies or cancel the recruitment as per its requirements.

- Educational Qualification (Essential):
• Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education OR
• ITI (NTC) in Welding trade, Sheet Metal Worker trade, Bench Fitter trade, Fitter trade, or Plumber trade from an institute recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
- Desirable: Post-diploma qualification in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) will be an added advantage.
- Experience (Essential):
• For Diploma holders: Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in Ship Building, Ship Repair, Engineering Company, Offshore Platform, Marine-related Engineering Company, or Government/Semi-Government Company/Establishment. Out of 7 years, minimum 2 years must be in a supervisory capacity.
• For ITI holders: Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in the same fields as above. Out of 15 years, minimum 3 years must be in a supervisory capacity.
- Desirable Experience: Proficiency in Scaffolding, Rigging, Welding Techniques, NDT Techniques, Knowledge about Marine Hull and Mechanical Systems, Experience in Fabrication, Quality Control, Hull Production, Piping Functions, or Computerized Environments.

- Phase I: Written Test (Objective + Descriptive)
• Objective Type Test: 40 marks (45 minutes duration). Sections: General Knowledge, General English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Discipline-Related (20 questions each, 1 mark per question).
• Descriptive Type Test: 40 marks (90 minutes duration), discipline-related questions.
- Phase II: PowerPoint Presentation
• Duration: 10 minutes highlighting work experience.
- Shortlisting: Based on marks in Phase I (Objective + Descriptive) and Phase II. Minimum pass marks: 50% for UR, 45% for OBC, 40% for SC/ST in each test.
- Certificate Verification: Only shortlisted candidates (minimum 6 candidates per post) will be called for verification of original certificates.

- Proof of age (Birth Certificate/Passport/SSC Certificate).
- Educational qualification certificates (Diploma/ITI certificates and mark sheets).
- Experience certificates (endorsed by Principal Employer if from contractors).
- Caste certificate (for OBC/SC/ST applicants, issued by Revenue Authority not below Thahsildar rank).
- Disability certificate (if applicable, minimum 40% disability).
- Passport-size color photograph.
- Discharge Certificate/Pension Payment Order (for Ex-Servicemen).
- Appointment Order/Offer Letter/Pay Slip (if currently employed).
