Recruitment of One (01) Chief Manager (Legal)

- The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (SCI), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), is India’s premier shipping company with a global presence across container, bulk, offshore, passenger, and break-bulk services.
- The selected candidate will be posted in Mumbai or may be transferred to SCI’s divisions, branch offices, departments, joint ventures, or subsidiaries.
- The role involves drafting and vetting commercial contracts, handling civil/criminal litigation, arbitration, labor matters, RTI compliance, corporate governance, and merchant shipping conventions.

- Essential Qualification: Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Post Graduate Degree in Law from a college approved by the Bar Council of India, with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Desirable Qualification: Company Secretary (CS) qualification.
- Minimum Experience: At least 13 years of post-qualification experience in a Corporate Legal Department.
- Core Experience: Hands-on experience in drafting and vetting commercial contracts/deeds, handling civil/criminal litigation, arbitration proceedings (including AMRCD), labor/service matters, RTI compliance, corporate governance, and merchant shipping conventions.
- Age Limit: Maximum age of 45 years as of 01st August 2026 (candidates should not be born earlier than 01st August 1981).
- Relaxations: Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen (ExSM) as per Government of India guidelines. Maximum age after relaxation shall not exceed 50 years as of 01st August 2026.

- Candidates will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria for educational qualification, age, and experience. If a large number of applications are received, SCI reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on higher eligibility parameters (e.g., higher qualification, length of experience).
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and an in-person interview at SCI Head Office, Mumbai. Original documents will be verified prior to the interview.
- The decision of SCI regarding eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of applications will be final and binding.

- Present Employment Proof: Offer of appointment, pay slips of May, June, and July 2026.
- Annual Audited Report for the last three financial years (2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26) for private sector candidates.
- Awards, Recognition, Accreditations, or Certifications (if any).
- Documents in vernacular language must be submitted with an English translation duly attested by a gazetted officer.
