Income Tax Department Pune Sports Quota Recruitment 2026

- Direct recruitment under sports quota for meritorious sportspersons only.
- Open for 85 vacancies across three posts: Stenographer Grade-II, Tax Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff.
- Applications invited from candidates who have represented India, a State/UT, University, or State School in 17 recognized sports/games.
- Online application process extended from 15 August 2026 to 30 September 2026.
- Candidates can apply for one or more posts in a single application, but only one application per candidate is allowed.

- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must belong to one of the 17 recognized sports/games listed in the notification.
- Must produce a self-attested certificate of eligibility (Form-1, 2, 3, 4, or 5) from a competent authority.
- Must fulfill the essential educational qualification and age limit prescribed for the post applied for.
- Educational qualifications:
- Stenographer Grade-II: 12th class pass or equivalent.
- Tax Assistant: Degree of a recognized university or equivalent qualification.
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Matriculation or equivalent pass.

- Selection based on the order of preference prescribed by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
- Preference criteria:
- First: Represented the country in an International Competition with clearance from the Department of Sports.
- Second: Represented a State/UT in Senior or Junior level national championships with a medal or position up to 3rd place.
- Third: Represented a University in Inter-University competitions with a medal or position up to 3rd place.
- Fourth: Represented a State/UT in Khelo India Youth Games with a medal or position up to 3rd place.
- Fifth: Represented State Schools in National sports/games for Schools with a medal or position up to 3rd place.
- Sixth: Represented teams at levels mentioned above but without a medal or position.
- In case of a tie, candidates with higher positions or multiple medals may be given preference.
- Post-specific skill tests:
- Stenographer Grade-II: Dictation test (10 minutes at 80 words per minute) and transcription (50 wpm English, 65 wpm Hindi) on computers.
- Tax Assistant: Data Entry Skill Test at 8,000 key depressions per hour.
- Medical fitness and police verification required before formal appointment.

- Self-attested copies of Matriculation/SSC or equivalent certificate/Birth Certificate/Aadhar Card/Passport (for proof of age).
- Educational Qualification Certificates.
- Caste/Community Certificate (if claiming reservation).
- Sports/Games Certificates.
- Certificate of Eligibility for Recruitment of Sportsperson (Form-1, 2, 3, 4, or 5).
- Certificate of PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) and UDID card (if applicable).
- NOC from the present employer (if employed in Central/State Government or PSU).
- Copy of Aadhar Card.
- Copy of a recent passport-size photograph.
- Declaration of no pending investigation regarding doping or unfair means in sports.

Application fee of ₹200 (Rupees Two Hundred only) must be paid through online mode only. Proof of payment must be furnished with the application. Applications without payment will be treated as incomplete and rejected. Fee is non-refundable.
