- Must be able to speak Manipuri or any Tribal dialect of Manipur.
- Must be a permanent resident of Manipur or have a parent/ancestor who is a permanent resident (with documentary proof).
- Educational qualification: 10+2 (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks (or 45% under NCTE norms).
- Must possess D.Ed. in Special Education from an RCI-approved institute with a valid RCI CRR number (or equivalent D.El.Ed. qualification).
- Must have completed 6 months of training in teaching for inclusive education (waived if training is unavailable, but must be completed later).
- Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test-1 (TET-1) conducted by the State Government or NCTE-approved agency.
