- Conduct advanced computational research on crystallization processes with a focus on crystal nucleation, growth, agglomeration, and process optimization.
- Develop predictive models integrating Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with Population Balance Modeling (PBM) to simulate multiphase systems.
- Analyze hydrodynamics, mixing, mass transfer, and crystal formation interactions using CFD-PBM coupled simulations.
- Utilize industry-standard CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or COMSOL Multiphysics for multiphase flow simulations.
- Validate CFD models against experimental data to ensure accuracy and reliability of simulations.
- Work under the supervision of Dr. Swapna Singha Rabha and Dr. Himanshu Goyal in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras.
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline (fresh candidates eligible).
- OR M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant research or industrial experience.
- Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for multiphase flow simulations.
- Experience with CFD software such as ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, COMSOL Multiphysics, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of turbulence modeling, mesh generation, numerical methods, and CFD model validation.
- Experience in modeling gas-solid, gas-liquid, or gas-liquid-solid multiphase systems.
- Desirable: Expertise in Population Balance Modeling (PBM) and its integration with CFD for particle dynamics, bubble size distribution, and droplet breakup/coalescence.
- Desirable: Experience with CFD-PBM coupled simulations.
- Candidates must be citizens of India. Persons migrated from Pakistan with intent to settle permanently in India or subjects of Nepal are eligible with a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
