Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) Recruitment 2026

Recruitment of Junior Technical Assistant (Group 'B' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) posts under the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Posts are classified under Level-6 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.
Vacancies are subject to variation based on workload and operational requirements.
Selection will be conducted through direct recruitment via the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute.
Alternatively, candidates with a Three Years' Diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university or institute are eligible.
Age limit for direct recruits must not exceed 30 years as of the closing date of application submission.
Age relaxation is applicable for Government servants up to five years as per Central Government instructions.
The crucial date for determining the age limit is the closing date for receipt of applications, not the closing date for candidates in remote areas.
No person with a living spouse can be appointed unless exempted by the Central Government under specific conditions.
Relaxation in age and educational qualifications may be provided for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, ex-servicemen, and other special categories as per Central Government orders.

Selection will be conducted through direct recruitment via the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation is 40 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Vacancies caused by incumbents on deputation, study leave, or other circumstances for one year or more may be filled through deputation from eligible Central Government officials.
Deputation candidates must hold analogous posts or non-ministerial posts in Level-5 or Level-4 with specified years of regular service and required qualifications.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be consulted for recruitment as per applicable rules.
