Gaon Pradhan Recruitment 2026

- Recruitment drive for 55 Gaon Pradhan (Village Headman) positions in Kamrup district, Assam.
- Offline application process via Standard Form (Part IX of the Assam Gazette).
- Monthly remuneration of Rs. 14,000 for selected candidates.
- Selection based solely on Viva Voce (Interview) performance.
- Candidates must be permanent residents of the village they apply for.
- Preference given to family members of previous Gaon Pradhans.

- Must be a citizen of India and a permanent resident of the village applied for.
- Minimum age: 30 years as on 1st January 2026 (age proof via Birth Certificate or HSLC Admit Card/Certificate).
- Minimum educational qualification: 10th standard (HSLC) pass from a recognized Board/Institution.
- Must own land or immovable property in the village applied for.
- Must not be a government employee or member of any political party.
- Must not have more than 2 living children (as per Government of Assam Notification dated 19th July 2019).
- Must be physically fit and of sound mind.
- Must not be declared insolvent or a defaulter in government dues (Bakijai Clearance Certificate required).
- Must furnish a self-affidavit confirming eligibility criteria.

- Selection is based solely on Viva Voce (Interview) performance.
- No written examination is conducted.
- Highest-scoring candidates in the interview will be selected for the post.
- Interview dates and venues will be notified later via Circle offices, Mouzadar offices, and the District Commissioner, Kamrup website.
- Final appointment is subject to a Police verification report.
